Welcome to the Progressive Living Virtual Community!

"They taste the best of bliss, are good,
     And find life's truest ends,
  Who, glad and gladdening, rejoice
     In love, with loving friends."

Welcome to the virtual community here at Progressive Living.
We're glad you dropped by. (And that welcome extends to our readers in Australia, Canada, the UK, Singapore, and around the rest of the world as well.)

The purpose of the PL virtual community is two-fold: first, to provide a forum for the further discussion of the issues we address here at Progressive Living, and second to provide a place where questions about the content can be asked.  To help get the ball rolling, we'll be doing a little blogging concerning national and international events, to which we hope you'll contribute your own thoughts.

Like real communities, virtual communities should, and do, start small. A large number of people is more apt to be a crowd than a circle of friends, and we don't have much interest in crowds.

You're in good company at PL: to date, all the people who have contacted us have been exceptional. Not surprisingly, we're reminded a little of the sort of people we met while working on the Nader presidential campaign in 2000. Which is to say, open-minded, well-informed people, whose concerns go beyond themselves to include the larger world and the rest of humanity.

So if you like those kind of people, or think you might, you've come to the right place.

The board in its current form is brand new. Feel free to jump in with a topic of your own if nothing in the blog strikes your fancy. Any topic is legitimate. Progressive Living has a lot of visitors, and is growing explosively. What the community here will become, and what it can do for itself, is up to you. Innovate. What should a virtual progressive community look like? The tool is yours to use to help answer that question.

Again, as we mentioned earlier, you can also use the board to ask questions concerning any of the material at this site. Want more details? Confused about something? Drop in at the board and let us know what's on your mind.

A final note: we're much more interested in light than heat. No subject is taboo here—but discourtesy is. You'll quickly become a persona non grata if you can't express your views without getting overheated. Please bear in mind that you're among friends.

So be neighborly! And come on in.
